Tharn

Like fish in a barrel

Negevs in narrow corridors

LSD and the sudden stop at the end

Left us knock kneed rickety

Harrowed and hobbled

Drunk of our spirits

Lopped off our feet for luck,
discarded the rest of us

Beg pardon

for lost arrowheads

for bleeding on your carpet

Silos worth of salt,
one grain at a time

Made for even greater disease,
biting our tongues for so long

Chewing pellets like pen caps
to wash the bitter taste away
